Human chain to connect Tallinn with Kiev

“I am addressing everyone who is able and wants to help form a human chain to connect Tallinn, Riga, Vilnius and Kiev. It will be called ‘We will not leave you alone, Ukraine’. My appeal is addressed to those who organized the Baltic Way on August 23, 1989. I think that we can and must do it. It is necessary to agree on venues and invite everyone to come and join the chain if they care about the fate of their children and grandchildren. We did it 25 years ago and we should repeat it again and move on,” he wrote in his appeal.

According to one of the suggested itineraries, the chain will cross Minsk, Babruisk and Homel. Another itinerary suggests eastern Poland instead.

“August 24 is Ukraine’s Independence Day. I am waiting for suggestions, advice and help. I do not represent any political party or national organization but I took part in the preparation for the Baltic Way in Lithuanian Sąjūdis 25 years ago. Let us join hands. Let us not allow them to pass!” Yefremov wrote.
