Hugo Chavez: Venezuela to buy 500 more tractors in Belarus

500 tractors more and over 1000 other vehicles will be bought by Venezuela in Belarus, Venezuela's president Hugo Chavez said after the meeting of the bilateral commission on trade and economic cooperation. Venezuela also plans to increase imports of Belarus-made milk powder and grain, reports STV channel. Besides, $200 million will be transfered to the bank account of the joint oil-drilling venture Petrolero Belovenesolana. Belarus will also be granted access to new oil mines. The company also plans to mine the natural gas.

The meeting between Hugo Chavez and the representatives of the Belarusian delegation was broadcast live on Venezuela's national television. Chavez pointed to Belarus on the map, saying it was "the heart of Europe". Belarus leader Alexander Lukashenka is expected to pay a visit to Venezuela on March 16-17.
