Hrodna police visit pensioner in hospital to discuss meeting

Two policemen in plain clothes visited Mikalai Salyanik in hospital on the evening of March 19. They wanted to discuss the non-freeloaders’ march held in Hrodna on March 15, Hrodna.life reports. The man refused to talk to the visitors.

 

They wanted to arrest him for taking part in the meeting on March 15, Salyanik thinks. “I told the policemen: you can take me to jail if the necessary medical assistance is provided. I also said that I had not violated the Constitution and had not been going to. I did not want to talk to them until they studied the Constitution.”

 

The pensioner was fined for 148 roubles (8 base amounts) for February protest on March 14.
