Housing and communal services tariffs for two-room flats increase by almost 5 dollars

However, the Ministry of Housing and Communal Services does not know whether the increase is the last one. It has become known that the price of housing and communal services increased on January 1. The chief specialist of the economic planning department of the association “Minsk City Housing” Maryna Tarasevich told ERB what will the extra sum money a family of three would have to pay was.

Tarasevіch: Considering an average two-room flat, it will be 11.183 roubles more in comparison with December. I am speaking about 40 square metres of living space and three people living in a flat.

Thus, the average increase in prices totals about 10 or 15 thousands. Let us remind you that the increase in prices for housing and communal services should not exceed 5 dollars per year. Thus, the increase is supposed to be the last one this year. The same thing happened last year.
 
However, the Ministry of Housing and Communal Services refused to answer whether the increase in prices was the last one this year. Minsk association of housing and communal services is not sure whether tariffs are going to increase again soon either.

Maryna Tarasevіch: Probably the prices will not grow anymore. But I cannot give you the exact answer because it is up to the Council of Ministers to decide.

Some tariffs have not changed. For example, the cost of central heating and hot water. However, the price for gas has increased by 90.9% and totals 3696 roubles per month. Other services have become about 5-20% more expensive.

The accounts department of Minsk housing and communal services departments has created a table of changes in tariffs for housing and communal services for ERB. A 2-room flat costs 7 thousands more without taking gas into account (it used to cost 97 thousands and it is 104 now), a 3-room flat has become 9 thousands more expansive – (used to be 126 thousands and it is 135 thousands now).
