Hockey World Championship 2012 to take place in Finland
This decision was taken by the General Assembly of the International Hockey Federation in Moscow yesterday.
The federation’s official site informed about it.
Finns got 64 votes while their rivals Swedes got 35. The championship 2012 will be hosted by Helsinki and Turku.
The World Championship 2008 will be hosted by Canada, 2009 – by Switzerland, 2010 – by Germany (Germans defeated Belarusians in the voting in 2005 – 89-18), 2011 – Slovakia.
Semi-final matches will take place in Moscow today: Russia-Finland and Canada- Sweden.
