Heavy earthquake hits China

A heavy earthquake has hit Western China's Xinjiang province today, the U.S. Geological survey said.

The magnitude was from 6.9 to 7.3. The epicentre was 12.5 meters underground. No information about the damage done or victims is available.

It is the third earthquake in China in two days and the second one in Xinjiang. The previous earthquake was registered on February 11 (magnitude 5.4).  One more earthquake (5.1) hit Tibet a bit earlier. No information about the destruction caused by the two earthquakes was reported either.
