A (H1N1) flu vaccine to appear in Belarus in second half of December

The A (H1N1) flu vaccine will appear in Belarus in the second half of December. The deputy Minister of Health Robert Chasnoits has informed about it. He has reminded that the Ministry of Health has announced a tender for supplies of the vaccine. Negotiations with different producers of the vaccine including the Russian “Microgene” are being conducted, informs BelaPAN referring to the official.

According to Chasnoits, 1.5 million people have caught various colds (acute respiratory deceases and acute respiratory virus deceases, etc.) this year. 2.4% or 2.6% of them were down with flu. Speaking about fatalities, the deputy Minister claims that “most of them did not have A (H1N1) flu. Those were regular infections we are trying to fight all the time”.

Let us remind you that, according to the Ministry of Health, 179 cases of the pandemic flu A (H1N1) were confirmed in Belarusian laboratories as of November 23. 153 of them were registered during the pandemic increase.
As of November 19, the flu virus A (H1N1) was registered in 13 people who had died of pneumonia.
