Gold and money reserves of Belarus decrease by 9%

Since the start of 2015, the gold and money reserves of Belarus  have decreased by 9% or 451.8 million dollars. On June 1, they amounted to 4 billion 607.4 million dollars (calculations made according to the IMF standards). The gold and money reserves were  affected by the Government and the National Bank paying their external and domestic liabilities in foreign currency, Interfax-Zapad reports referring to the National Bank.

BelTA adds that at the same time in May the gold and money reserves of the country increased by 36.3 million dollars. In the national terms, the gold reserves this year have increased by 94.8 million dollars. According to the preliminary data, as of June 1 it amounted to $5 billion 222 million.

This year, the National Bank of Belarus has sold 75 kg of gold

In 2014, the gold and money reserves of Belarus decreased by 1 billion 591.8 million dollars, in 2013 - by 1 billion 444.1 million dollars (according to IMF methodology).
