German parliament votes down democracy support for Belarus

The German Parliament has proposed to reduce Schengen visa costs to some categories of the Belarusian citizens. German MPs thus backed a proposal from the ruling coalition of the Christian-Democratic Union/Christian Social Union and Social Democrats. The proposal will be tabled to the German government.

The legislation focuses on the youth not older than 26 years and those heading to Germany at the invitation of artistic, cultural, human rights and religious organizations.
