Football: Kandratsyeu officially resigns as national team coach
Belarusian Football Federation today terminated his contract ahead of time, following the 1:3 defeat to Slovakia in a Euro 2016 qualifier.
Today, in the Football House, head of the Belarusian Football Federation Syargey Rumas met with the head coach of Belarus national team Georgy Kandratsyeu. As a result of the meeting, it was decided to terminate the contract with Kandratsyeu ahead of time and by mutual agreement.
Before his last match against Slovakia Kandratsyeu publicly promised to resign as coach in case of defeat. Belarus eventually lost with a score of 1:3.
In the first three qualification games for the European Championships in 2016, the national team of Belarus was able to score only one point and actually lost the chance to go to the championship. Name of the new coach is still unknown.
