Gazprom insists on timely payments
Gazprom will supply gas to Belarus only on condition of full and timely payments for the current supplies, the Russian gas giant said in a statement. Gazprom said it hoped that "the Belarusian partners would fulfill all the agreements regarding the terms and conditions for the supplies and transit of the Russian gas".
On August 8, Beltransgaz fully cleared its debt for the Russian gas supplied to Belarus in the first six months of 2007.
However, Belarus will have to wire by August 23 nearly $150 million to Gazprom for the gas supplied in July, writes Gazeta.ru.
