Gazprom: Gas for Belarus in 2008 to cost 67 percent of price for Poland

The cost of gas for Belarus in 2008 will be tied to the price of the Russian gas for Poland, Russian gas monopoly Gazprom today said in a statement.
Under the gas deal between Belarus and Russian signed on December 31, 2006, the cost of gas for Belarus will amount to 67 percent of the gas cost at the European market; 80 percent in 2009 and 90 percent in 2010, Belapan reports.

By 2011, Belarus will have to pay for the Russian gas at the price level that consumers in Europe are now paying. Gazprom also said that every European country pays its own price, although there is a notion of "average European costs, but they are not voiced".
