Russian Ambassador to Belarus Dmitry Mezentsev has spoken on the Belarusian-Russian negotiations on the price of natural gas in 2020. He called them absolutely technical. The diplomat believes that Minsk and Moscow will be able to reach an agreement by the end of the year.

"The negotiations are onoing," ria.ru quotes Mezentsev as saying. "I believe that the negotiations will continue untill the end of this year and will yeild the best and most comfortable option within the framework of the already concluded agreement. The price is a consequence of the already concluded agreement, not new negotiations."

The ambassador noted that the above-mentioned agreement signed more than two years ago "defines the algorithm of gas price formation."

According to Dmitry Mezentsev, today Belarus has the "most favorable" gas price among other consumer countries - $127 per thousand cubic meters. "This is an absolute record in the price comfort," said the Russian ambassador.
