"Daughter" directed by ex-Euroradio journalist and presenter Mara Tamkovich has won in the Best Fiction Film category at the 25th Minsk International Film Festival "Listapad.".

"I am very happy to have received this award. It has been a big surprise. It makes me feel even more happy because this is my first fiestival in my home country. The Daughter was created abroad [in Poland] with support from the state but I felt absolutely free creatively. I hope we will soon be able to make films in this way in Belarus as well. Cinema must be free in order to be good quality," Mara commented to Euroradio after the win.

Ruslan Fedotow'a Song for Kit has won in the Best Documentary Film category. The Good Wolf by Natalia Darvina has won in the Best Animated Film category.

Mara Tamkovich is a Belarusian film director. She lives and makes films in Poland. The short fiction movie Daughter is her diploma work. It has already been recognized at several film festivals.

Mara was in the Euroradio's studio recently and talked about her work.
