Former Belshina official appointed director of Kolas theater in Vitebsk
Alyaksandr Starykh previously held the position of Deputy Director General of Babruisk enterprise.
The announcement about the unexpected appointment came from the Minister of Culture Barys Svyatlou after the meeting of the XXVII International Festival of Modern Choreography in Vitebsk organizing committee, BELTA reports. Today, at a closed meeting, Barys Svyatlou presented the new head of the theater.
"In recent years, cultural institutions have exprerienced a division of directors and artistic management. Kolas theater was one of the last islands where the management with the artistic direction were combined in one person - Valery Anisenka. Moment for change has come, the institution is switching to other tasks, which requires a competent organizer of theater process," Barys Svyatlou said.
According to the minister, he deliberately chooses for leadership positions people with experience of organizational work and high communication skills.
