Forest fires continue in southern Belarus

A fire risk still persists in the south of Belarus. It received the fourth rank of danger yesterday, reports STV channel. About 700 hectares of forest burnt down in Homel Region during the last week-end. More than 100 fires were registered in Brest Region.

For example, almost 30 hectares of Palesse forestry was caught in fire. Rescuers spent three days trying to liquidate it. All air and land forces were involved in it.

Air patrols of “Belavia” are working overtime in order to notice and liquidate fires on time. They make 2 or 3 flights a day which means they spend several hours in the air.
