Foreign Ministers of Belarus, Lithuania and Ukraine to meet in Vilnius

A meeting of Foreign Ministers of Belarus, Lithuania and Ukraine will take place in Vilnius on February 14. BelaPAN informs about it referring to the press service of the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The agenda will be defined later.
The press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Defense has not confirmed the information about the participation of the Belarusian Foreign Minister yet. They explained that they could not comment on events that were not going to happen soon enough.

Meanwhile, according to a Belarusian political analyst Raman Yakauleuski, the main issue on the agenda will be cooperation of the three countries in the framework of the new policy of Eastern partnership of the European Union. The expert explained that a great umber of foreign policy issues would be discussed and that the Ministers would touch upon the project of energy supplies from Ukraine to the Baltic States via Belarus.

R.Yakauleuskі thinks that Polish diplomats are not as good as Lithuanian diplomats when it comes to the issue of development of relations with Minsk. He thinks it can explain the absence of representatives of Poland, one of the initiators of the programme of Eastern partnership, at the planned meeting.
