Expert: Belarus pays $160 for Russian gas in Q1

Russian political commentator Leonid Radzivikhovsky told the pro-Kremlin internet newspaper Vzglyad that Belarus pays $160 per 1000 cubic meters of the Russian gas in the first quarter of 2009. The price of the Russian gas for Belarus in the first quarter has not been officially revealed. Russian ambassador in Minsk Alexander| Surikov said during a press conference on February 6 in Minsk that the cost of gas for Belarus in the first quarter of 2009 would be around $200 per 1000 cubic meters.

Belarus PM Siarhei Sidorski declined a comment on the price of gas in the first quarter. He only mentioned an average price for 2009 of $148.
