EU: There is no dialogue with Belarus in energy sector

Belarus is a very important country for the European Union in terms of energy. However, the dialogue at the highest level has not been built yet, Feran Espuni, a spokesman for EU Energy Commissioner Andries Piebalgs told reporters:
“Belarus is important for the European Union as regards both the transit of oil and gas. Belarus also has borders with the countries which produce electricity. Therefore, Belarus is also very important in the field of electricity. Besides, Belarus has a potential in producing the biomass and biofuel", he said.

That's why the participation of Belarus in the Eastern Partnership program is very important. However, the relations between EU and Belarus in the energy sector remain at the technical level.
