Entrepreneur arrested after a meeting with police commanders

Alexander Makayeu, one of the leaders of the entrepreneurs' movement today was detained in the center of Minsk, reports Charter'97. He was arrested shortly after exiting the building of the Minsk City Hall where he had a meeting with Minsk City Police Department deputy chief Alexander Naydzenka.

The entrepreneur came to discuss with the police the conditions of detention for the arrested participants of the January 10 rally. Foodstuffs and warm clothes are not allowed in a pre-trial detention facility.

The appointment was made by Naydzenka. During the conversation with the entrepreneur, he promised to call the administration of the detention center and assured that some foodstuffs and clothes could be passed over already today.

Makayeu was detained near the building of the Minsk City Hall. He was taken to a neareby police station and charged with petty hooliganizm. Makayeu will appear in the Maskouski District Cort within several hours.
