Emergency at Croatian resort Dubrovnik
Forest fires spreading because of the hot wave in Croatia have approached the suburbs of the resort city of Dubrovnik. The situation is so grave that the local authorities have declared an emergency.
The Mayor of Dubrovnik urged women, children and aged people living in the suburbs of Dubrovnik to leave their houses. A shelter has been prepared for the “refugees” in the centre of the city.
According to the Mayor, tourists who have arrived in Dubrovnik are not in danger because they live on the edge of the territory with no fire forests.
