Elderly man died in Magi Gifts queue in Minsk

the man died of a heart attack.

"Doctors ran up to him when he was unconscious. It was difficult to use the car in the crowd so they carried him away on a stretcher. Information about his death appeared 40 minutes later. Some woman came to the spot and started crying and asking why they had come there – she seemed to be the man’s daughter. It turned out that he had had an infraction not long before. Dozens of people were watching it,” TUT.BY reports quoting a witness, Minsker Andrei Ivanou.

People were queuing for about 10 hours on December 21, doctors said. They lined up at 11 p.m. to be able to worship the gifts in the morning.

It is dangerous for elderly and sick people to queue in this frosty weather. People fall down in the crowd most often – they may stumble or feel bad (because of pressure or heart problems).
