Driving Inspectorate stops motor race of Malady Front members

A motor race dated for the birthday of Zmitser Dashkevich, political prisoner and one of the leaders of “Malady Front” started in Minsk on July 19. But the cars were stopped by the driving inspectorate right after they left the city.
Let us remind you that four cars with 20 passengers began the race at the station “Druzhnaya” at 12.30. The democratic activists had been planning to take the route Minsk-Baranavishy-Nyasvizh-Salihorsk-Mahileu-Shklou-Minsk.

Law-enforcement agencies of the mentioned cities have started criminal cases “for acting on behalf of an unregistered organization”. Zmitser Dashkevich was sentenced to 1.5 years of imprisonment according to the same article in 2006, reminds BelaPAN.

The participants had been planning to get to Shklou labour camp where Dashkevich is serving his sentence till July 20. However, as Radio Liberty informed, the tax inspectorate took away the drivers’ driving licenses and the activists had to go to Dzyarzhynsk for a court examination.
