Diplomats asked to visit activists during hunger strike in prison and at liberty

Participants of the hunger strike organized to express solidarity with Mikalai Autuhovich, Yury Lyavonau and Uladzimir Asipenka have urged the Belarusian Attorney General Ryhor Vasilevich to change the measure of detention to the entrepreneur from Vaukavysk. They ask to replace imprisonment with release after a written undertaking not to leave the country or to organize the trial as soon as possible. The appeal has been sent to the Attorney General, to the Prosecutor of Hrodna Region and to Hrodna police investigating the entrepreneurs’ case today, on May 7, informs BelaPAN.

In their turn, representatives of the United Democratic Forces will send a special appeal to embassies accredited in Minsk on May 7, informs “Charter-97”. They will ask foreign diplomats working in Belarus to try to visit Autuhovich and youth activists starving to express solidarity with him.

Let us remind you that about 20 people are taking part in the solidarity hunger strike. The action started on May 4.
