Darya Domracheva wins silver in World Cup pursuit

Дар’я Домрачава выйграла срэбра ў гонцы пераследу на чэмпіянаце свету

Belarusian biathlete Darya Domracheva has won a silver medal in the pursuit at the Word Cup in Hochfilzen, Austria. This is the first medal since her comeback to big-time sport – Darya gave birth to her daughter in October and started participating in the World Cup events in January with poor performance.

Domracheva started as number 27 due to her unsuccessful performance in sprint.  Nevertheless, the Belarusian was shooting well which let her stay in the top-3 and leave this year’s favourites behind.

German Laura Dahlmeier won the race. Domracheva was 9.6 seconds behind her. Czech Gabriela Koukalová came third. She missed twice and could not win although she had started as number 1.

Belarusian Nadzeya Skardzina was 19th and Iryna Kryuko – 45th.
