Council of Europe's information office to open in Minsk in June

The official launch is planned for June 8, MP Anatol Hlaz said in a statement. He took part in a meeting of the European Democrats Political Group at PACE in the Czech Republic, reports Belta.
Belarus' Cabinet of Ministers approved a resolution last March to welcome a project proposal which envisaged technical assistance to open an information office of the Council of Europe. Anatol Hlaz explained such information centers are common in many contries.

Those information offices are to popularize the goals and priorities of the organization. In the view of the lawmaker, the operation of this center will foster a closer dialogue between Belarus and the Council of Europe.
