Communist Zyuganov to run for Russian presidency

The congress of Russian communists nominated party leader Gennady Zyuganov as a presidential candidate, reports the Russian news agency RIA Novosti.
Only three people out of 218 congress delegates voted down his candidature. It is the third time when Zyuganov will run for this post.

Under the Russian laws, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, being a parliamentary party, is exempt from collecting signatures from voters in support of a presidential candidate. The presidential elections in Russia will take place on March 2, 2008.
