College graduate to pay Br18mn for dodging mandatory assignment
A female graduate from the Minsk University of Linguistics is facing a fine of Br18 million ($900) for having failed to show up at her working place under the mandatory assignment.
The sum has been established by a Belarus court as a compensation for her free studies at the state-sponsored university. Back in 2006, she was assigned to work in the remote village in the Brest region, from where she had received a referal to learn foreign languages in Minsk.
However, the English and French teacher managed to find a job in the Russian capital before being assigned to the village, reports Belta.
