Civil activists commemorate prisoners of Polish concentration camp in Byaroza

Civil activists have commemorated prisoners of the Byaroza -Kartuzau concentration camp. It existed in the today’s town of Byaroza (Brest Region) from 1934 till 1939.
Polish authorities organized the concentration camp as a place of extrajudicial imprisonment for people in opposition to the ruling regime. Activists of the Belarusian and Ukrainian liberation movements were kept there.

Civil activists including those who had arrived from Minsk laid flowers to the monument to prisoners of the concentration camp and lit candles.
