Charter'97, Partisan and Viasna unblocked by most providers

Most users received access to such websites as Charter’97, Belarusian Partisan and the human rights website Viasna on March 28. Only Life:) is still blocking them, tut.by reports.

The information about the blocking of Charter’97, Belarusian Partisan and Viasna appeared on the evening of March 26. However, no official explanation was given.

Charter’97, Belarusian Partisan and Viasna were blocked because BelIDE had updated the back list of Internet resources, the press service of Life:) explained. However, the Ministry has not ordered to restrict access to the resources mentioned above, senior deputy Minister of Information Ihar Lutski said.

The websites were blocked because two black lists had been united, tut.by owner Yury Ziser thinks. One of the lists was created to block the access to some Internet resources in state institutions and in cultural and educational institutions in 2010. The other one appeared on February 19, 2015. At the same time, a special document cancelled the black list drawn up in 2010.
