Businessman Mikalai Autukhovich freed from jail ahead of schedule

Mikalai Autukhovich, a businessman from Vaukavysk, today was freed from a Minsk colony, reports Belarus Partisan. Autukhovich was very surprised. He said;" I guess this is politics. They will free all (entrepreneurs).

On July 7, 2006 Autukhovich was sentenced to three and a half years in prison after he was found guilty of a large-scale tax evasion. Under a new court ruling, his 13 taxi vans, an apartment and two warehouse will be seized by the state.

However, a house will remain with Autukhovich and his wife. The former prisoner also owns half of the taxi vans, a bus terminal and a separate building, notes Nasha Niva.
