Police major Ihar Shutnik has lodged a complaint against the journalist he beat in Brest Lenin District Department of the Interior. Dzyanis Maruk is the editor of realbrets.by. He has called the policeman a sadist in social networks.

The police major was insulted. He had lodged a complaint demanding to punish Maruk for the post, Radio Liberty reports. The journalist has already been summoned to the police and has given his explanations.

The incident occurred on April 29, Euroradio reported.  Dzyanis Maruk was detained and severely beaten in Brest Lenin District Department of the Interior. He was being hit with his head against the wall, stabbed on the legs and kidneys and policemen were using a spoon to force him open his mouth. They were trying to get a flashcard with a video made at a non-freeloaders’ march in Brest.

Maruk lodge a complaint to the Public Prosecutor’s Office and described the incident in social networks. He also asked Brest Lenin District Court to abolish his sentence: he had been fined for 46 roubles (2 base amounts) for petty hooliganism.

The policeman lodged a complaint against the journalist a few days later.
