Brest Communist between Lenin and John Paul II

At about 10a.m. a group of "parliamentary" communists from the Belarusian Communist Party gathered at the Lenin Monument outside the regional government office in Brest.

Most Linin monuments have been removed from the city. One concrete structure stood recently here, outside the meat packing plant.

A war of graffiti at the bus station outside the Central City Hospital.

Officials and pro-government communists gathered near the monument. A band played Soviet tunes. Paradoxically, close to the monument there is a Catholic church and a monument to John Paul John II.
