Brest builders learning Spanish to go to Venezuela

ERB has found out that they were promised to be getting about 800 USD per month. Brest “Building Trust #8” was given the right to build apartment houses in Karakas, the Venezuelan capital.

According to the deputy head of the trust Ihar Silchanka, the state gave them the right because their trust was one of the best buildings trusts in Belarus:

“It was decided by the government”.

About 30 people of different building specializations will be sent to Venezuela. However, the chance to work there will not be given only to builders from Brest. Inhabitants of other cities and villages will be able to participate in the programme too.

Mr. Silchanka said:

“Anyone can take part in the construction no matter where they are from. The only thing that matters is their skills”.

Our builders will be constructing 4-storey solid houses in Karakas.

Workers will earn twice as much as they do in Belarus. It is not hard to count how much they will get under the Venezuelan sun taking into account that they earn 800 thousand BRB here.

The selection of specialists will finish this week. Ihar Silchanka says they will start learning Spanish and English after that:

“Our workers will have to learn either English or Spanish. It does not mean that they should have a good command of them – they will just have to learn some basic things. We are going to hire a teacher for them”.

Workers will probably depart in November. They are working on probation for the time being:

“We are planning to organize studies and work on probation this year. We may be able to leave  at the end of the year, in November”.
