Brest authorities denote places where candidates can meet electors

Brest City Executive Committee has denoted the places where local deputy candidates can meet electors. 29 rooms have been allocated for the city of 300 thousand people.
It is allowed to meet electors in four places outdoors: in the stadium “Lokomotive”, the palace near the Muhavets River at the end of Soviet Street, in the archery ground and in Internationalists Park.

A human rights activist Uladzimir Vyalichkin has informed on the decision for ERB:

"The law does not indicate the way electors can be gathered. According to my personal experience, it is used against opposition candidates if they try to gather people with the help of, say, leaflets. Opposition members are accused of exceeding the limit of expanses for their election campaign in this case. It is allowed to use donations of citizens and organizations abroad. Foreign candidates are allowed to meet people even in the street or in a hall like the Palace of the Republic”.
