Br4bn allocated for Lake Narach rehabilitation

Br4 billion are to be allocated this year for the environmental rehabilitation of the Lake Narach in the northern Belarus’s lake region, under the National Investment Program.

Activities, associated with the renovation of the Belarus’s most famous natural attraction site, have been under way since 2005. According to the government program, the resort is expected to become fully operational for tourists by 2008, with better leisure and healthcare facilities to be put in place.

A total of Br65 million will be spent to improve the existing walking routes. 17 camping sites will be further improved, where visitors will be able to set up tents and rest for a fee.

Last year, 11 thousand tourists visited the resort. 13 sanatoriums and holiday centers will also be renovated in the Narach area, reports Channel One.
