Borisovdrev ex-CEO imprisoned for 3 years

Borisovdrev ex-CEO Uladzimir Maltsau’s has been imprisoned for 3 years. The prosecutor demanded to imprison him for 6 years.

Maltsau was accused of power and authority abuse that caused the loss of Br17 billion. He pled not guilty.

The prosecutor corrected the accusation on December 3. Being the CEO, Maltsau signed an equipment supplies contract with a Turkish company for his personal benefit. Uladzimir Maltsau did nothing when the company started delaying supplies, the prosecutor claimed.

"Trying to hide his incompetence, careerism and law violations, he signed a contract to postpone supplies,” the prosecutor added. The former director general did not take measures in order to buy the match production equipment in time.

Everything started when Alyaksandr Lukashenka visited the enterprise on November 8, 2013. He was indignant at the modernization rate. An investigation was started. Uladzimir Malstau was arrested in March and the trial started in September.
