Blood-donors to go on strike in protest of benefits cancellation
Mahileu blood-donors announced their intention to stop giving away their blood and plasma in protest against benefits cancellation. The honorary Belarusian donor Ihar Kavalenka informed about it. According to him, more than 100 honorary donors have already agreed to take part in the strike. The strike will start when all the necessary documents are ready, stressed Kavalenka.
He noted that a preventive strike will take place first: donors will stop coming to the regional donor centre for a week. If it gives no results they are going to start a termless strike. They will come to donor sites only in case of emergency – when their blood is necessary for by children or those who badly need it.
