Belarusians from Gaza Strip ask for help

Several Belarusian citizens are trying to leave the Gaza Strip where an armed conflict between Palestinian groupings is developing at the moment. They turned to the Belarusian Embassy in Tel-Aviv for help. The Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affaires is working out ways of helping Belarusians.
There were about 300 Belarusian citizens in Lebanon and the Palestinian autonomy last year. They were mostly Belarusian women who married foreigners. About 50 people were evacuated to Belarus during the war in Lebanon in 2006.

Russia is also evacuating its citizens from the zone of the conflict. 141 Russian citizens are waiting to be taken out of the Gaza Strip. The only frontier check-point “Erets” is closed. Moreover, 15 citizens of Moldova and Kazakhstan also turned to the Russian diplomatic mission for help. If the check-point is opened, Russians will be transported to Jordan by bus and will be able to board an airplane of the Russian Emergency Control Ministry.

It is possible that Belarusians will be evacuated the same way together with Russians, Moldavians and Kazakhs. Some sources claim there are 4 Belarusian citizens on the list. 166 Ukrainians are also waiting to be evacuated.
