Belarusian government to make public utilities more expensive

It was noted that the population’s purchase power would not decrease and “the rate of increase of the wages” would not be exceeded either.

“The liquidation of disproportions in the economy is supposed to let relieve tension in the real sector of the economy which would increase the competitiveness of Belarusian enterprises,” Interfax-West reports.

Belarusians pay 2.2–2.7 times less then enterprises for electricity, the governmental press service noted. Poland and Lithuania were used as examples of the opposite situation.

Gas and electricity will become cheaper for enterprises on January 1. The decision was made by the Belarusian government.
