Belarusian detained in Thailand allowed to send e-mails

Another hearing of the case of the crew of the Il-76 detained in Thailand with a cargo of illegal weapons from North Korea will take place on December 26, 2009. An information agency “News-Kazakhstan” informs about it referring to the Kazakhstan Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The detained are no longer being interrogated. The Kazakhstan Ministry of Internal Affairs claims that the pilots - four citizens of Kazakhstan and a Belarusian – can communicate with relatives with the help of the Internet, but “the communication is one-way: they cannot receive messages from relatives, but they can write them”.
Let us remind you that the plane with weapons was detained by Thailand security agencies on December 11. The crew including a 54-year-old Belarusian Mihail Petuhou has been accused of illegal storage of explosives and weapons and of giving false evidence deliberately”.
