Belarusian communists will not quarrel near monument to Lenin

Several small actions will take place on the day of 91st anniversary of Russian October Revolution in Minsk. No great actions are planned. Representatives of Belarusian left-wing parties have informed “Interfax” about it. Memembrs of the Communist party of Belarus (loyal to the authorities) will conduct festive meetings and lay flowers to monuments to Lenin all over the country.

They may meet representatives of the opposition Belarusian Communist party near the monument in Independence Avenue in Minsk tomorrow. The leader of the party is Syarhei Kalyakin. Activists of the BCP will also bring flowers. According to Kalyakin, they are not planning any large-scale actions because “it is not a jubilee”.

The leaders of Belarusian communist parties have noted that incidents near the monument to Lenin in Minsk “have never been and will never be possible”.
