Belarusfilm has explained its position as regards the film Traces On Water. The film studio has sent an official reply to the portal tut.by.

The film shot in 2016 has been mentioned in a scandal recently, Euroradio reported. Script writer Andrei Kureichyk published documents connected with the film in social media. According to the documents, Russian filmmaker Yegor Konchalovski received about 125 thousand dollars for the film although it had been shot by Belarusian filmmaker Alyaksandr Anisimau. Konchalovski is not even mentioned in the credits.

Yegor Konchalosvski organized the preparation for Traces On Water, Belarusfilm CEO Ihar Porshneu noted. All the decorations were built, actors were chosen and costumes were selected in that period. The Russian filmmaker and his assistant Aneta Kolpahchyan “got paid for the work performed in that period”.

Representatives of the film studio have refuted the information about the sum of the fees. “The real sums are not even close to those mentioned on the Internet. We cannot make the information public because it is a commercial secret,” tut.by quotes Belarusfilm.
