Darya Domracheva overcame errant shooting by skiing a perfect final leg to claim the women’s Olympic 4x6km relay gold for Belarus in a see-saw race held in swirling snow on Thursday.

Hanna Oeberg stormed back from almost a minute down to take silver for Sweden, 10.7 seconds behind Domracheva, and Anais Bescond claimed bronze for France, reports Reuters.

Domracheva spearheaded a Belarus relay team of Nadzeya Skardzina, Iryna Kryuko and Dzinara Alimbekava.

The 31-year-old Domracheva became the first female biathlete to win four Olympic gold medals. It was her first gold and second medal of these Games. She won the silver in the women's 12.5km mass start.

The gold is Belarus' first-ever gold medal in the women's 4x6km relay.

Belarus total medal count now includes two gold medals and one silver.
