Belarus, Ukraine to consult on energy security

Belarus is sending a high-level delegation to the Ukrainian capital Kiev to hold bilateral consultations on February 6-7on the issues of energy security and cooperation in the energy sector. The negotiations will be headed by Belarus deputy prime minister Uladzimir Siamashka and Ukraine's vice premier Andrei Kliuev. The energy ministers from the two countries are also to take part in the talks.

Belarus is also bringing the chiefs and specialists from its energy sector monopolies -- Belenergo, Belnaftachim and Beltransgaz -- who are also to hold working meetings with their collegues at the Ministry of Fuel and Energy of Ukraine.

The sides are expected to prepare several bilateral agreements, including the one on increasing the exports of the Ukrainian electrical power and possibly on attracting Ukranian investments to build gas reserviors in Belarus, reports BELTA.
