Belarus has paid the gas debt to Russia for the supplies made in 2016-1027 (726.2 million dollars), Gazprom reported on Thursday.

Belarus decided that the Russian gas price was unfair and started paying less last year. It was a unilateral decision. Moscow was calculating the Belarusian debt and Minsk kept refusing it. All the issues were settled after Alyaksandr Lukashenka and Vladimir Putin’s meeting not long ago. Decisions concerning oil and gas were made, Russian PM Dmitri Medvedev announced on April 13. Belarus had to pay the debt for the agreements to start being fulfilled. As we can see, it has been done without delay.
