Belarus occupies 3rd position in inflation rate if compared to other former USSR countries

Belarus occupies the third place among other former Soviet countries if you study the inflation rate in January-August 2009. The analysis of information of national statistic institutions conducted by BelaPAN testifies to it. Belarus was the leader in the first quarter and was left behind by Ukraine in April. It yielded its position Russia in June.

Ukrainian prices have increased by 8.2% since the beginning of the year. Russian prices have gone up by 8.1% and Belarusian ones – by 7.5%.

A 0.2% deflation was registered in Belarus in August. Our country has shared the fifth position with Lithuania and Ukraine according to this index.
