Belarus, Lithuania to facilitate travel for border residents

A Belarusian-Lithuanian agreement that would exempt border areas' residents from the visa requirement for short-distance trips may be signed by the end of the year, Alyaksandr Tsishchanka, spokesman for the Belarusian State Border Troops Committee, told ERB.
“It is a technical matter and I hope that it will be closed until the end of the year," he said.

The date of signing is not known. Belarus plans to sign a similar accord with Poland.
