Belarus buys Moscow-Minsk Bank

Republic of Belarus was represented by the National Bank and its allied bank Paritetbank who purchased the shares of Moscow-Minsk Bank.

The National Bank of Belarus did not disclose the amount of the transaction. Still,  it is noted that the transaction was made in the implementation of the agreements reached in the course of the negotiations of the Belarusian head of state with the chairman of the Board of JSC Bank VTB Andrei Kostin on cooperation between Belarus and the VTB.

As previously reported by BelaPAN, the VTB group owned the controlling stake of the Bank of Moscow, which, in turn, has been the owner of Moscow-Minsk Bank since 2000.
