BATE chief manager: Our chances to defeat Slovan are 50/50

The Barysau side will play an away match agains Slovakia's Slovan today. It will start in Bratislava at 9.45 p.m. EEST and will be broadcast by Belarus-2. BATE arrived in Bratislava yesterday afternoon and trained in their opponent’s stadium. BATE is not a favourite in this game, chief manager of the club Alyaksandr Yermakovich told Slovak journalists:

“We are not favourites. We understand that Slovan is a serious opponent and has rich traditions in its country. That is why I think that both clubs have equal chances to make it to the playoff,” Alyaksandr Yermakovich said.

Bookmakers believe that the Slovak team has a bit higher chance to win. The return match will be played in Barysau Arena on August 26. The winner will get to the Champions League playoff. The other club will continue playing in the Europa League group stage.
